There is a new plugin blog worth knowing about. Audiocolour launched at the end of August and is publishing steadily: roundups of compressors, vocoders, autopan, mastering chains and free plugins for beginners.
It is early days for the site, and the writer is candid about that. But the plugin world is not overserved with people willing to sit down and actually compare twelve VCA compressors, and new writing in this corner is worth encouraging rather than ignoring.
We have added it to the sources we follow in Field News, so its articles will show up here alongside Bedroom Producers Blog, MusicTech and Production Expert.
Two things worth saying plainly, because we would want to read them ourselves. Audiocolour has never written about Piruz Labs, and there is no arrangement of any kind between us. We are pointing at it because a new independent voice covering plugins is good for everyone who makes them.
